Judy Grann
Photographic Craftsman | PPA-Approved Business Instructor

Judy earned a BS degree in Computer Science from Rowan University in 1985. After school, she worked as a software engineer for two years while pursuing her true passion: photography. She launched Judy Grann Photography, a residential studio, in 1987 and quickly learned that it was more difficult than she had expected. So she feverishly studied photography and business with Ann Monteith and other industry leaders. Doing so gave her the knowledge she needed to succeed. She switched her focus from low-end weddings and portraits to higher-end wall portraiture as home decor. Completing her first business plan helped her realize her goal of moving her home studio to a commercial location in the heart of Fairfax, Virginia. To her surprise, she met all of the goals in her plan — doubling her gross sales and tripling her take-home income.

After years of success with her studio business, Judy turned her talents to helping other photographers achieve their dreams. She is a well-known authority on studio business management, marketing, business planning and sales who is credited with helping scores of photographers turn their studios into profitable businesses. She has consulted with hundreds of studios, has taught the business side of photography to hundreds more, and has appeared as a guest speaker at numerous state and national photography conventions. Judy also has served as an instructor for the PPA Approved Business Instructor Class.

Currently she is Vice President of SuccessWare, Inc., makers of SuccessWare studio management software, which donates copies of their business planning and pricing software for your use during the Guerrilla Management Workshops.
